Proposed new section 12A (4)
This clause
amends the proposed New Section 12A, subsection 4 of the University of
Canberra Amendment Bill 2005, with a provision that clarifies the full
extent of Council member duties that may be sanctioned in the event they are
breached.
Subsection 4 as amended by
this proposed clause clarifies that if a Council member breaches subsection 1 or
subsection 2 of New Section 12A, sanctions may apply. The current subsection 4
specifies that a breach of the duties specified in subsection 1 only is grounds
for sanction. The purpose of this amendment is to include subsection 2
as grounds for the sanctioning of a Council member.
This amendment will ensure that new Section
12A, is compliant in all respects with the National Governance Protocol 3
(paragraphs 7.5.15 and 7.5.20).
