George Francis (Frank) Lynch died on 20 October 1996, aged 81. Mr Lynch completed his articles in 1936 with Nicholas O'Donohue and was at the time reputed to be the youngest person ever to have been admitted to practice in Victoria. He served with the 2nd AIF in New Guinea and Japan as a legal officer, performing the often thankless task of representing prisoners accused of war crimes. After the war he recommenced legal practice and became a partner in the firm now known as Nicholas O'Donohue & Co. He practised in Kerang from 1957, and commenced practice in Mornington in 1975, acting as a consultant to a number of Peninsula firms until he retired in 1993. He took a keen interest in matters relating to regulation of the profession and had a strong family connection with the law - his sister was the first married woman to be admitted to legal practice in Victoria and his two sons were both solicitors and members of the Law Institute Council.
