NT Land Claims

Mr Justice Olney, the Aboriginal Land Commissioner, will be inquiring into the following land claims lodged by the Northern and Central Land Councils respectively, on behalf of Aborigines under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976:

• Wave Hill (Pigeon Hole) Stock Route (Billingnara) (claim No 92) CLC
• Coolibah/ Wave Hill Stock Route Land Claim (claim No 92) CLC
• Wave Hill Stock Route Area (Ngarinman) Land Claim (claim No 105) NLC

Inquiries into claim Nos 99, 92 and part of 105 will be conducted at the same time on or about Monday 17 July 1989.

• The Kenbi (Cox Peninsula) Land Claim (claim No 37) which was lodged by the NLC on 20 March 1979 will commence on 19 June 1989
• The Kakadu (Jim Jim area) Land claim (claim No 122) which was lodged by the NLC was received by the Aboriginal Land Commissioner on 18 April 1989. A preliminary hearing date is to be set.
• Auvergne and Coolibah Stock Routes Land Claim (claim No 123) which was lodged by the NLC, was received by Commissioner on 18 April 1989. A preliminary hearing date is to be set.
