Take-up of computerised transcript by the parties


Various reporting services and Departments have indicated that the parties to
complex criminal trials (both prosecution and defence) seem to request
transcript on disk far less than is the case in complex civil matters.
However, in Western Australia the reverse is said to be true over the past
year. We do not have any hard evidence on this beyond the impression that less
use is being made of transcript retrieval than might have been expected.
