Hypertext (pp. 15)

    Hypertext is a method of presenting text which makes explicit the
    relationships between related passages. This is achieved by marking
    relevant parts of the text as 'live' and linking these to other parts
    of the same document or a different document. A user can read the text
    in arbitrary order, following links as she sees fit.
